if you plan on tuning it at all, you need adjustable gears

I have the same question. Just got my ITR cams on the HT group buy and was wondering if I even need adjustable gears. I won't be dyno tuning anytime soon at all. Basically slapping them in and calling it good for now so will adjustable gears even be worth it or should I wait and get them whenever I plan on doing some tuning?

Two of my friends got ITR cams and slapped them in with no tuning. 1 had an LSVTEC with a 1st Gen Automatic B16 head (auto B16 cams suck). He noticed a good difference with the ITR cams because the vtec lobe was much more aggressive. My other friend had a full SiR-1 B16 Manual swap and got a set of ITR cams and dropped them in and they made absolutely NO difference. So it really depends. Its not going to hurt just dropping them in

And BTW...if you're not doing other internal mods I woulda gone with Skunk2 stage 1's...much more effective than ITR cams

If you're going to be in there already you might as well put in the gears so you don't have to tear it apart twice Some guy I know has a B16A3 that he's slowly turning into a B16B; when he put in the CTR cams his car was actually a little slower than it was with just the stock cams. So tuning is something you'll probably want to do pretty soon after putting in cams, but like the others said, it could be a little different engine to engine.
