does this happen to your hatch too?
Its either a tailight seal or a sunroof leak. Does yours have a sunroof?? I know of some friends with sunroofs in theres and it seems to leak in throught it somehow.
I'm not sure if it's the result of the same problem but Accords do have the problem as well. The fix is to reseal the taillights with either caulking or new foam tape.
Also, check to make sure your taillights arent loose.

Yeah..he did'nt like it too much..I fixed it for him though. He's a great guy...has more money than I can even imagine. He bought the damn Legend because it was his neighbors and he needed to sell it. Handed the guy over 9k in cash on the spot when he told him he was selling it.

Yeah I have the same problem with my hatch their is a always literally a puddle of water in my rear where the spare goes. And its drying me crazy because all my stuff is starting to rust. And yeah I have a sunroof, I'm about to seal my rear back tailights with some form of sealant or something.
You know what now that I read this I remember my Aunt and Uncle saying something about taking their 96-98 Civic Hatchback to the dealership for a recall on the Rear Hatch seal after they bought it brand new back in the late 90's. I could be wrong but I remember asking them if the car ever broke down on them since they bought it new and they said no but other than normal stuff just that rear hatch seal recall. I am pretty sure that is what they told me. Hope this helps, P.S. Now I am going to start to worry about my rear hatch leaking I will have to check this out.

its the tail light seals. i can gaurentee you of that. my spare tire well would fill up with water all the time too. i traced the leak back to the gaskets on the tail lights. you will need to replace them. you can make your own from this foam sheet material avaliable at wallmart. its in the arts and crafts section.
