HIDS....Worth It?
Hi-
I have been considering buying myself a set of these HID (High Intensity Discharge) lights ever since the GroupBuy came along. But I then convinced myself that $450 was too much for a set of lights which for me is only for appearance. How does everyone feel about their sets that they have purchase honestly?? Are they worth it, likes/dislikes, etc etc...pictures would help as well.
Thanks!

The only advantage I could think of is when you're driving down I-85 at 120mph you can see better, thus avoiding that big piece of truck tread, pothole, etc.

I jumped on the group buy after I had a TL for a week, while the R was in the shop. anyway, I had too much fun with those on at night...the light was actually white, and I could see a tad farther...now on the R, same thing!!
Yeah, $400 is a lot, but at least it's not just looks.

Thanks everyone, I'm about 90% sure that I will now purchase them. Also, what's the differences in the bulbs? I think it is DS2 or DSR...or something similar. Just to clarify, I hope everyone here didn't get the idea tha I thought HID's would make me quicker. I was driving home with my friend tonight, and we always comment when we see HID's. Just on an AUDI, but they look so good!!!! Expensive, and I said they would definitely benefit me in heavy rain or fog possibly. Sooo.......http://www.centerstagegroup.com/ that is the set I'm considering, is that the same set as in the previous group buy? What would everyone recommend?
Thanks!
Thanks!
totally worth it for me...and im in a EK so the headlight is bigger and alot clearer..i jump in my friends ek without em and its like driving blind
Once you go HID you can never go back. I'm still waiting for mine to arrive since they had to come up with a new kit for the WRX.

Does anyone elses HIDs start off really white then slowly go slightly yellow?? Just trying to see if it's just me with sensitive eyes or if it's actually happenning.
No. It will not make you faster. Why not just cut out protector block on your high beam bulbs and put them into the low beam headlight? This gives nearly the same look of an HID without the HID price. You can then buy other USEFUL mods for your car with the money you saved.
humm and I guess that you tried it...? If not then you didn't look at all your options
. Ok let's "pimp" out my shizznit so we's can see betta! If you really need HID's...so be it, however it was a loaded question to begin with...it's all about opinion. I'll post pictures if you want, but I'm telling you...you will not be able to tell much of a difference at all. Plus, you will save $450.

It's not the look of the HIDs that we're (at least I'm not) trying to achieve. You don't understand how much farther you can see in the dark with these lights. But I guess you can't or won't appreciate them until you drive behind them.
Hey, I can save tons of money by putting a set of $100 tires (for a complete set of 4) from Pep Boys on my R, too. Give me a break. HID performance is superior and worth every penny. If you can't afford it, save until you can! Well worth it!
