Default Life at 9000 rpms

I thought some of you wee-todds would get a laugh out of this video.

I think it's kind of funny how one's feelings about the sturdiness of a motor goes down the more you mod your car and the longer you own it.

This is a seriously beat up car - they must have put some RESTORE in the engine or something.

Anyone care to try this on their R at the next Expo?

It's way too long, and honestly it's not worth watching the whole thing.

Rotaries cant really be over-revved.... there's nothing to break. They just stop making power at some point.

So it was just overheated *shrug*

But there is the worry that over time, something can happen to affect the balance of the engine causing lateral runout at high enough RPM's that will eventually destroy the engine by internal turbulence.

It's a theory that the rev limiter won't let you test and would require revs to somewhere in the neighborhood of 20,000 RPM's.

f*cking idiots. i'm surprised it took that long for it to go bad. i don't understand why anyone would do that. i guess i don't know that much about rotary motors.

For everyone calling them idiots, one rotor was already trashed so the motor was gone anyway.
