Default Help WANTED: Installed C/F hood and it STICKS UP!!!

I just installed my Fiber Images Carbon Fiber hood and let me tell you about the fitment. On each side of the carbon fiber hood, there is a 3mm gap between the hood and the fender. Also, the front of the hood sticks up about 2mm. Also, on one side it sits low to the car like perfect; however, on the other side, it lifts up. Can u tell me any tips to make it lower. How do u adjust the hood latch. Also, how do u also adjust the stock rubber stoppers??

turn the rubber stoppers like a screw to go up or down to desired height.

It's Never gonna fit the way you want it to.

On the brighter note, Fiber Images is much better than most other c/f hoods out there.

I've had personal experience with two Fiber Images' hoods, and have seen (both in person and in photographs) various others. Look around on this board alone and you will find numerous people who have had fitment issues with FI hoods as well. It seems the raised corner/edge is one of the more common FI problems though it is not the only one. I never said FI hoods were "garbage". In fact, for the price they are good quality and they fit decently in most cases. However, they are far from perfect, and often no amount of adjustment of the latch, the stops, or the hinges will make the hood fit correctly.

If you don't have hood pins, i'd recommend that you get some before you do any highway driving...a local Si had his FI hood disengage from the fiberglass sub-structure that attaches to the hood latch, so the CF part flew off his car at 70 MPH and made a pretty hefty dent in his roof on the way out. Needless to say he was surprised to see the hood dissapear, and then his engine humming away in the naked sunlight.
