Hey jr, I go to Arlington because I scoped out a shop that has everything I wanted; intelligent, experienced mechanics, a dyno, very good prices, and I have family there to make the trip for other reasons too. I don't know if you go up to DFW much, but it is a great shop. An instructor of mine, who is a Miata freak, told me of a shop way out in SW Austin that he swears by. Says, they do great turbo work and I think they have a dyno. Will find it and post it. Another place to look is texasracingscene.com.

If you are willing to wait for the begining of the new year there will be a new shop in SA that will have a full service dyno and very professional individuals.

I'm actually from Arlington, lived there all my life. What shop were you talking about in arlington? Out of all those I'd probly drive north to garland and deal with Jotec.

they were talking about alamo.. I have heard good stuff about em

reasons not to go to jotech:
1)they have too much businuss and rush through customer cars
2)they treat you like crap unless you spend over 5k
3)they dont have time to talk to u and answer your questions
4)if you are not an older white male, they assume you dont know anything
5)they think they are hot ****
those are basically all related but still thats what i dont like about em

kenny is a great guy though and knows hondas.. if u r lucky enough to talk to kenny for 15 minutes you will learn ahellava lot but basically to talk to kenny personally u have to wave 10k cash to get him outside..

all his butt servants should work at VSV if u ask me..

I am talking about Alamo Autosports off of S. Cooper.
Those are the same things that I heard of Jotec too.

I was at Alamo when they tuned my friends car and I was not happy with what they did. That is why I feel everyone needs to learn how to dyno and rent it out themselves.

What did they do? Can you elaborate? Alamo does rent out their dyno. Why didn't you just help your friend tune his car the way you wanted it tuned?

If you pay $150/ hour you would expect them to tune your car to run safe. They tuned his car and they were asking me questions. They tuned his car to run 13:1 air to fuel ratio at 15psi. Then they say, "well, thats the best we are gonna get it."
Maybe we got them on a bad day because you only hear of the bad and never the good. Alamo does do good work, but I wasnt happy with what they did on his car. If it were my car I wouldnt be happy, but my friend was because he had 350whp.

Dont get me wrong, Alamo does good work but everyone has a very important assest called your brain and everyone can use it. I dont trust anyone touching my car.

You live in San Antonio, right? There was an Alamo Motorsports there is that what you are talking about or did you drive to Arlington to get the tuning? Just want to make sure you are talking about the same place.

No, I live in the DFW area. But I do remember Alamo autosports in SA when they had their warehouse there. Dont forget about Capital high speed in San Antonio if you want to take it way back. LOL... Then alamo moved to Louisianna and the shop is in Arlington. When they were in SA they didnt have a dyno at that location. As a matter of fact there is only two dynos in SA that service a majority of Mustangs.
