I think all the door skins are the same but the actual doors are diff from the 88s and 89-91's. the 88 crx's had pillar mounted belts and so did the 89 HF's everythign else had door mounted belts. Teh actual doors are diff but the skins are the same.

Yeah, I meant everything but the door panel.

For example:

89 CRX door with the 88 inner door panel.

well i think they all fit but, the 90-91 door molding is thicker than the 88-89 door molding. and u might also have the trouble with the seat belt too!!

all u have to do with a 90-91 door is just unbolt the seatbelt setup, and use the 88 seatbelt setup. and also put your 88 molding on the door since the 90-91 is thinner.

i no this from hands on experience, not from what my brothers gf's cousin read online

But why would you want to use 1990-1991 doors? People get 1988 cars (and 1989 HF models) simply to avoid the increased weight of 1989-1991 doors.

I am canadian so I don't know this for sure but I believe the 88-89 us doors didn't have side impact bars, but the 90-91's did. Where as the canadian doors always had the pillar mounted seat belts(as was already stated) and always had side impact bars(I have a 89 door on my 90 crx).

I need a door too, and have come to the understanding that (in US models) the 88(all) and 89(HF) is the one you HAVE to use. I don't know what the deal is with using just the shell from and 89=-91, but I know the 88 will work. Now I don't believe the 88-89 had the impact bars in the door, thus making them lighter.

Either way I still need a drivers side door

i actually think they're different..
they seem the same, but seriously, i rewired a 90 with 89 wires.. and honestly, it's much different! so it wouldn't surprise me if they were different.

I dont understand how they could be the same?? I mean the 88's and 89 HF's have different windows than the 89 DX's and Si's and the 90/91's so how could they be the same?? Now they may bolt on but I think if anything it would look goofy since there are more differences than just the seatbelts on the doors...Like the metal bar or whatever you would call it under the door that goes into the loop on the door sill or the size of the door sashes. I think you should stick with the door that was meant for your car so all 88's and 89 HF's with eachother and 89 DX's,Si's and 90/91's with eachother. Now what about the star head bolts on the sides of the doors?? Do 88's and 89 HF's have those as well?? They are 2 like bolts with wider heads that use a star key to put them on I think they have something to do with supporting the door so it doesnt sag I would assume?? But do all years have those as well?

Well if your in Canada you shouldnt have to worry about the year since they are all the same I beleive (none have seatbelts in the doors right)?? Although I think the 88/89's dont have the extra door beam inside them like the 90/91's do?? But again I could be wrong??

Even with that centre beam the doors are still interchangeable right?
