sluggish performance started recently (h22a)
okay follow me here guys. My prelude (94 vtec) is running really shitty. Like all accross the powerband it seems sluggish. Like i really don't have any power till 2k. The powerband is all choppy and sluggish, even vtec seems weaker somewhat. It feels really restricted. I don't what it could be, the car has 90,000 miles it probably hasn't been tuned up in 30k 35 at most. The second piece of my header is bend up like right after the 2 goes into one (dc ceramic header).. it's probably 4 years old and it's just smooshed probably from bottoming out
. I don't think this is my main problem though. I do want to have this pipe replaces, any sugguestions? I don't feel like bying a new header though. Please advice guys. thanks.

one more thing, what spark plugs should I go with? And when I look at the old ones, what should I be looking for?
thanks...
thanks...
Just get some NGK V-power plugs for a SI prelude.. Just replace them often
I doubt your car is having a compression problem, sounds more like ignition or some sort..

i have a crane hi-6 w/a coil... accel wires. Would you have any guesses at who could fabricate a pipe that goes from the header to the cat??

Your better off just getting new headers, because the price to get that done will be a lot.. Call DC and see if they will just send you the bottom half of the headers..
I have a stock JDM header and down pipe i kept from my 94 JDM H22A
Let me know i will hook you up. Also have you ran a compression check on the motor and run injection cleaner. make sure that you flaper valve is not stuck.
Let me know jdmh22a@earthlink.net

skyline, besides the pinch in my header at the bottom there everything else should be fresh. I'm going to tune my car up this weekend w/my buddy who's a descent mechanic in town from the phillipines. Quicklude i'm be emailing you. thanks for the advice guys...
I say do a major tune up (spark plugs, dist cap, rotor, fuel filter, pcvalve, the works) and also clean out your Throttle Body, u also might want to consider checking ignition timing and a valve adjustment!
Header wise, I would go with a Greddy SS Header, if u need one, let me know!
goodluck.,

hmmm I checked my cam gears today and the exhaust was @ -5, the bitch slipped on me
Oh well the car seems to be running fine now all is well. My buddy w/his 530whp foxbody 91 lx (notchback) gave me a rip today. I swear those 275/40 nitto extreme drag radials can't even start to stick when he hits 1st to 2nd hard. I'd guess we were done with third gear in like 6 seconds that car is so unreal. We went out looking for races and none were to be found.

Mike- i have aem ones, but the thing is i've had them for like 3 years. I'm just guessing the allan nuts got loose after a while. **** happens right.

i was just about to mention cam timing, glad you found your problem. Did you re-set your "distributer" timing when you moved the cam gears back to place? Also, take the bolts out of the AEM cam gears and take them to a nut and bolt shop. There, compair them to others the same size, and get a higher quality bolt. Also alittle bit (alittle) thread locker will help.
I will never get another AEM cam sprocket. Torqued to specs mine slipped several times on my old F22. Those 3 bolts are just not enough. I'm going for the Unorthodox TR 5 bolt sprockets this time.
