Anyone else tired of shitty stereos in even shittier cars???
Just wondering, in my area every POS around has a "thumping" system. Most of them consist of cheap *** audio components like Power Acoustik, PowerBase, Lanzar, Volfenhag, ETC.
If you aren't sure what I'm talkin about, listen for the vehicles that sound like they have a mexican in the trunk kicking the fenders and trunk lid with the beat. It is awful, and undoubtably they ALWAYS think their stuff is

Not to mention a rat's nest of wire in the trunk in one giant mess of a pile. It's more than the lack of equipment, it's also the lack of install quality. Some of these kids can only afford low end products, which is why there's a huge market for them. Some learn to install their own equipment or get help from their friends. The way I look at it is 1) You have to start somewhere 2) it's more money to audio shops to fix what wasn't correctly installed.
Considering the latter, I worked with a friend at his shop for a few days. I saw some of the crappiest installs and mixed equipment. What can you do?

We all have to start somewhere. Just because you don't have money, does not mean you don't want something better than stock. The older cars have really crappy stock systems btw 
.
If you just want to boom, you don't need lot's of money. Give me 500 dollars and a suv, and I could easily make a system that would hit high 140's. Pair of ek15's and jbl 1200.1 and a big *** ported box.
PS, I would suggest editing out the trunk comment. It might be considered racist.

LOL!! My shop installed this pair of dvc Volfenhag subs and this monsterous "1600" watt amp in this guy's Z34 a couple of weeks ago... He came in last night saying that we wired it wrong and one of the subs caught on fire, and wanted us to replace it... Damn that thing reeked! He said there was no way that the sub was defective, because it was "really expensive"... I told him to pack it up and get out... LOL Volfenhag... What a name...

just beacuse a car "sounds like it has mexicans in it" or w/e dont mean its a crappy system, it means its a good system think about it bass makes it rattle if u have a shitty system it dont make bass, therefore no rattle. most people just dont have money for dynomat which is more expensive then the system almost lol

Yep, true some people can't afford much in the audio department. But to those of you who go buy this crap @ rice shops, spend the same amount on ebay and get good brands. I don't have a ton of money to dump on audio either, but my previous 2 systems (same h/u, just changed subs and sub amp) consisted of: Pioneer Premier DEH-P740mp, Infinity kappa perfect 6.5 components, Alpine 3 way 6x9's, Old school fosgate 4020 on mids/highs, 10"L7 solobaric in ported box with a Old fosgate 200 dsm on it. I hit 137.8 DB's with that.
After that I got stupid and put 2 15" L7's in with a MA Audio HC4002 amp, optima deep cycle, and ma audio 1.5 farad cap. I hit 158.6 db's with that setup, but S.Q. was crappy.
