Default accord is it transmision problem

i have a 90 accord ex and when i was driving in the snow i pushed the gas pedal to go faster and the car didn't go. the gas pedal got hard and there was no change in the car likei wasn't doing anything. i took my foot off the gass pedal and pushed it again then the car accelerated. it did the same thing in dry asfalt. i am driving about 30 mph and i try to accelerate but the gass pedal becames hard to push i push it to the end and nothing happens i take my foot off then push it again then the car accelerates. is it trasmision problem or something else i have no idea. someone please help

That sounds really strange. Start at the pedal itself & check it's hinges. Then go to the throttle cable, then the throttle bode... It sounds to me like there's something physically blocking it from moving.

looks like you have a tranny that only wants to work when it wants to....and what would the airfilter have to do with your tranny....just curious.

For all I know, a '90 EX came with a carburator in Albania. And his original post sounds to me like a stuck or frozen throttle or throttle cable.

So, alb_accord... Tell us about your car. Carburator? Fuel injection? I bet the USA Accord EX isn't the same as yours. You mention driving in the snow. Does this only happen when it's cold enough to get ice in the throttle linkage?

i am albanian but i live in philly usa. so its a accord it usa. the thing is when the gas pedal gets hard and i push it to the end i hear some cranking noises coming from the automatic transmision. its like cranking noises it cranks like three or four times then the car is good again. one other way to make my car accelerate is i have to keep the pedal pushed steady so it can pass that problem. i changed the oil and it still does that **** to me. so if u have any idea tellme about it please

on the tranny, if its auto, there a detent linkage that the throttle is connected to directly. if that detent is sticking, it will cause the pedal to bind. its on the front of the tranny to the left of the cooler lines. it has a cable going directly to it. you should be able to pull it up with your hand. if it binds or grinds at all you have a problem in the tranny.

i know what u are talking about. it's in the left side of the trany. now i move it up and down with my hand and it seems to be ok. do i have to disconect the cable from in and pull the arm out. is that what u are telling me to do or what. sorry i don't know alot about it so if u want me to pull it out what do i have to look for to find the problem.
