EG coupe with either GSR all-motor High compression or Turbo low compression?
My project for da spring is GSR swap on my EG coupe. But i'm not sure if i should go ALL-MOTOR high compression or Turbo low compression. And my car is gonna be Daily driven, for street/Track use. Which setup would suit me best for good track times ( at least 12's ) and good to last long with no problems?
Quick doesnt mean it will be reliable, reliable wont be quick, and quick wont be cheap. Pick one
Quickest way to dip into 12's would be turbo, all motor will most likely cost as much/more with less power in some cases. It's up to you.
And Coupe's are EJ's

well, you can pick two.........
your best bet, i think, would be a small turbo on that gsr....... you'll only need about 300 whp...... why not the vortech? whatever you decide.... forced induction is the answer

Sounds like a good idea, cause i saw a 2.0 liter civic wit a b16 head with a vortech supercharger and it has almost 500 whp and reaches 190 mph On dyno in hondadata.
You really think i can hit low 13's wit that set up in a 94 civic coupe. And probably with more work, cause if anything, i'll work da whole block and head.
Easiest way would be turbo on a coupe.... All motor, you'd be competeing with weight. My ride is a hatch and I have a hi compr. all motor gsr under the hood... the car is awesome, untuned as it is... it pulls great about every part of the band... but my car weighs 2390 w/ interior + me in it... yours is heavier.
I'd say, if you don't already have the gsr... go LS + boost, or gsr + boost if you already have the engine. Hondata + stock gsr motor + 10psi should put you deep into the 13's or break 12's w/o a problem.

The question is, would boosting be reliable in the long run. Will i have to worry about it breakin down or gettin another motor. I figure all motor would be more reliable and respectful, i would get more props beating anybody who has turbo or sprays with my all-motor coupe.

As noted earlier in the thread...
Fast, Reliable, Cheap.... you only get to pick 2.
BUT what it doesn't relate.. is the faster you get, the more maintenance and the more touchy the engine gets.
Sure, you can put down 12's in N/A form... but think of the kind of build you'd need... hell, you need to put out numbers similar to a turbo car... that's alot of hi performace parts.
But ANYTHING built properly, and maintained properly will be quite reliable. But decent boost, say 8-10psi with a couple other mods like mild cams, a better I/M, or even some port work, will put you where you want to be with pretty good reliability (if the stock motor is in good condition to begin with) As long as you care for your car... oil changes, turbo timer, quality parts...etc... there are many variables.... which brings us back to your 2 choices.
