Default Just got S2000--A few ???

Hey guys, Im new on this message forum. I just got a Silver 2000 S2000 on 12/06. So far I am very happy with it, and I was just posing to say Hey to everyone on here and to post a few questions.

1) What is the best way to clean my rear window (on soft top).
2) Is there anything to watch out for while I use this as a daily driver? (like tips on keeping stuff new and not damaging stuff).

I also have a 600rwhp Mr2, so I know quite a bit about cars. .

One tip from me. Be extremely careful when parking near raised curbs or concrete, since it's really easy to misjudge and scrape. When you scrape, you're almost guaranteed to break the keeper bolts on the plastic underguard.

Make sure you don't try to put the top down when it's cold, since you could break the rear glass. You might want to apply some UV protectant to keep it from turning that nasty yellow color.

Plexus will do nice things to your rear window.

Put your heat on for a few min after you start to warm up the top from the inside a bit, be consious of that rear window but don't let it stop you from winter top-down driving (a leather jacket and the convertible setting blowing hot air is all you need on a sunny day)

I NEVER park anywhere but the farthest spot in a parking lot I can find, and yes, stay away from curbs, scraping your chin is almost inevitable but can be somewhat avoided.

Be prepared to have people flash thier brights at you constantly, our firm ride and very extreme cut-off on the HID's tend to make people think you are flashing them.

Also be prepared for every Civic/Neon/ etc... to put up to stoplights revving at you, it gets old, take the high-road you have a faster car, they know it, you know it, don't get yourself killed or ticketed for it! Cops like our cars too!

It's a very athletic enjoyable car, it will get you in trouble if you mis-handle it but isn't nearly as demonic as most people want to incinuate, if you aren't used to RWD yet take it easy till you get the feel of her, she will begin to tell you where your limits are....find them, enjoy them!

Spend some time learning about the car so as to combat the ignorance that there seems to be in copious amounts about it.

ENJOY THE HELL OUT OF IT, that smile never goes away

Congrats on a great purchase - just have fun, and be careful with your new toy.

Don't you just love the VTEC and 9k redline??

I highly recommend doing some autoxing to helping you learn some of the unique handling features of the S2Ks - so I've been the told, the 00 and 01s are the most tail happy of the bunch so far........

Yes, it's plastic. Just habit to refer to windows on cars as glass.

on the back window......
if it becomes scratched, like they all do, you can use plastic and acrylic polish to remove the marks. works very well and keeps the window looking new....
