I got a clunking coming from my car...
Its from my front passenger side, whenever I hit multiple or deep bumps, I get a knocking/clunking sound. I checked my upper control arm, lower ball joint, and tie rod end. My front strut is fairly new too (feb/march of this year), and seems to be pretty stiff. Any other suggestions? I'm frustrated, and most of all I don't want something flying off when I'm driving on the highway! Any help appreciated, thanks!
Actually also have someone check your mount..I have a clunking sound on my drivers side when I gun the throttle or just plain and simply let off the throttle. We couldnt figure it out for the longest time. Last week we found a cracked drivers side mount. doesnt hurt to check. noise gone .
also if your car lowered a bunch your upper a-arm could be bottoming out on the under side of the fender well, which would only happen on bumps...
ah thanks guys, will check my axle, strut and mounts, I'm not lowered, so I don't think my upper control arm is hitting, I appreciate the suggestions though! I'm a pretty stock 93 accord ex, I did change my front dogbone mount recently, but I can't tell you if the knocking sound came after I changed it (I don't think so though)
I had some clunking as well when I did suspension work and rushed it. I didn't torque things down to spec, and it was slightly clunking sometimes. Torqued it to spec properly and everything was golden.
It was a cheap fix too
It was a cheap fix too
would you happen to know how much it would cost to fix those mounts? i think i have the same problem coming from my front left, driver's side....
