Does anyone have experience using hitches on 88-91 civic si's? I am looking for a hitch that can support at the most 300 pounds of tongue weight (bike rack and 2-3 bikes) . Anyone have luck using a specific bolt or weld on model?

My bro went to uhaul and got a hitch for his 03 Civic so maybe they can help you out. Most places won't do it for you becuase the Honda manual says towing is not recommended. You need to tell them what you are doing (not towing) and they will become more helpful. I made my own rooftop rack which could hold three bikes but I currently justr throw my Moutntain Bike on it. Sounds good, I will check them out.. I currently have a Thule bigmouth setup on the roof, but the next round of bikes wont exactly fit on it, any tires 2.5" and wider have problems seating correctly in the track - not to mention they are quite a bit heavier than my Ranier

i had a hitch put on by uhaul on my 90 crx. i drove towing a motorcycle from ny to mia. not one problem. Its not recommended but if its not an everyday thing then you should be good.

the only thing i did differently was the speed. and i did an oil change before and after. car ran fine 1382 miles, not a problem. so i cant se a bike rack giving a problem

I was towing a 397lb bike and a 250lb trailer.
