I just bought an 88 Crx Si that has roughly 180,000 miles for $600. I took it to a local industrial center in the middle of the night and tried to see what was left of the old motor. I was pleasantly surprised. This thing still has some *****. Where do I go from here? Freshen up the A6 or save up for a swap?

[curing the cancer.. etc] then
depending on if you want a daily driven quickster or a "race car" you boost the single or boost a dual! if you want a jdm b16a1 in like 8 months I'll sell you mine for under 600 dollars for everything as I plan on saving for a kswap.

 

Do a comp test and if it shows good Check all gaskets, check cap, rotor, plugs and wires.
Change coolent, oil and tranny fluid.
Now you have a good motor.

 

if the motors good..boost it.

 

That is a steal of a price. I just saw an 88 si with rust going for $2100. Hell, I got a 88 dx Beat and Rusted to ****!! lol for $600. And yeah if the engine is good,boost that ******. Or throw on a vtec head and than boost it.
