Swap for 92 accord?
I was thinking of buying this 92 Accord EX 2dr from the guy down my street, are there any swaps that bolt in? Does anyone make a turbo/supercharger for the stock motor? Or are these cars destined for low speeds?
A Prelude VTEC H22 will drop right in. ECU, wiring, and accessories can be a biotch though. The resulting hybrid is as fast or faster than a Lude.
The way I see it, if you want a fast two door, instead of going through the trouble and expense of engine swapping a 2 door Accord, why not just get a Prelude whose chassis is designed from the ground up as a sports car?
personally, id go for the swapped accord.....most preludes have been ragged on, and beat to ****, while you could prolly find someone's daily driver accord, or some grannies accord, which is in better condition.......other thoughts would be sleeper status, and the fact that everyone in there momma has a lude, be different, be special

I would think its the other way around. I see many more Cords than Ludes. If I would have found one for the right price, I would have gotten a Lude, but all I saw were Cords. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Honda sales records will prove me right. Maybe you see more moded ludes than accords, but just driving around, I see many more accors.
Heh yeah. There are WAY more Accords out there than Preludes.
Not many H22 Accords out there though of course, but unless you rice it up it's not going to separate you from the mundane Accord crowd... until you pull away from a green light at a jaw-dropping pace. God I love doing that. I pray for red lights.

I have a 92 accord EX sedan n i want to get an h22a. how do i go about purchasing one like what year to get n the install. is there any problems i'll come across or it'll be simple?

Prices are anywhere from around $2K for an old H to 4K for a newer H (both with tranny). Install labor can be anywhere from $1.5 to $3K (including misc. parts). It's mostly a drop in, but there are always little bugs you can't forsee because there are so many combinations of different year cars, motors, axels, distributors, fuel injectors, accessories, and ECUs.
