A lot of us bolt them to the floor or tunnel. There is really no specific place to put it except between the rear seats (5th gen like mine) I used the area where there was a shelf between the seat cushions. Just bolted it in and that was it. The expensive alternate (for racing anyway) is the type with a remote tank.
Hope this give you some ideas. BTW: I use 2.5 pound Purple K extinguishers (SCCA Approved)

Just don't put it in the A-pilliar!! That is about the dumbest thing I have ever seen on a street car!

Question, why do you want/need one?? I would only put one in if you were doing wheel to wheel road racing

for teh track its required to have a .9kg extingisher to pass scrutening, without one they won't let u on the track. Laswt time i went on, i just put my friend inbetween the front and rear seat and moved the seat all the way back so that it didnt' move. , luckliy he didnt' check that it was screwed in properly coz it wasn't.

Like for normal driving i'll have the extingwisher out but i'll leave the bracket there at least.
