I'm looking to be racing again in about 3 months. It really depends on if I just throw a K20a2 (or 3 ) in and get it running or whether I build my K24 from the get-go.

At the moment, I have a K24 sitting in a mates workshop but I'm missing.......basically everything else

What about a custom axle from a shop. Here in the carolinas, there was a guy who was making axles for h22 civics. A buddy got some. I think it was a combo of axle parts put together, but it worked very well. Maybe someone in your areas could do that for you guys

yea axels will prolly be the least of your probs..
try to jig up the K-series motor in your engine compartment

i have seen a K just rested in a 90 crx engine bay at the time the car had stock front suspension and with the K rested on blocks in the engine compartment .it looked to me like the hood would have to come up about 3-4 inches and the rear crossmember would have to get cut Alot

There goes my thoughts of putting it in my EF. I would want it as a sleeper, someone sees the Gude style hood, that would be shot to hell.

Could Cut it like the Mach1. How low did the oil pan sit?

84-87's don't have the subframe that the EF's have. Height will undoubtably be a problem but surely the motor isn't 4 inches taller from sump to rocker cover than a b?????

Edit: This is what my engine bay looks like at the moment

The way it sits in there might be the problem. The motor sits towards the front, making the older body styles pretty shitty to use for this motor. I have seen a K sitting beside a B and it is almost 3-4" taller. Plus, you still have to worry about the Header. Rear engine bay of EF is gonna be tough, for a street car.

Aussie, your car full drag yet?

No my car is a street car. Always has been, always will be...

3 inches won't be too much of a problem, 4 is pushing it tho

the motor was sitting on 2x4 and to be completely honest with everyone its not the kinda fit i would consider using even for a race car

The one i saw made me wonder how you fit it in your EG k20eg. I was like "DAMN that was a tight *** fit, especially with those ITB's.

Axles would be sooo crooked in EF or anything older.
