yes the N1 is still pretty damn loud even before the VTEC crossover
i'm running the JUN MM canister with mandrel bent SS 2.5 from front to back (no cat or resigs) on a JDM JUN header and it's very very sickening loud. even though it is way too overboard as far as DLs are concerned, for daily driving. . . i love it when i'm at the track. i'm shooting a video of me and some friends with our hondas and i'll make sure to get some tunnel runs for ya
imo if you don't like constant loud noise from your exhaust then get something else, because you'll probably end up just selling it soon

Put it this way, all of the R's I've been in equipped with Apexi N1's and various headers and cats are loud enough where when you are on the track, you can't hear eachother clearly without some form of radio communication. Screaming just don't cut it.
I have the Skunk2 N1 which is just as loud with a deeper tone and I use radio communication or earplugs at the track.
Trust me, it's loud. But, so are just about any other N! styled mufflers. The Spoon and Type 1 are also obnoxiously loud.

What you have to remember when looking at an N1 exhaust is that N1 racing uses cars that are fairly close to stock specs. The N1 exhausts are designed to pull the maximum amount of power from a fairly stock motor, so any N1 exhaust will be loud. I do get a lot of compliments on my exhaust though, people say it sounds really good, but in the car, you really can't tell. And yes, it's still very loud even before VTEC engages. Driving on the highway at anything above 75 mph even in fifth gear is not recommended unless you stop frequently.
Yeah get an N1 if you want a POS *** exhaust. The ****** rusts after a year or so. Rusts almost as quickly as tanabe. Get something stainless and 2.5 inch if you want your money's worth.

I agree, I've never had rust problems with my A'PEXi.

Is anyone speaking from experience with a silenced N1?
I have an N1 catback on my Si, and with the silencer in, I can barely hear it. Didn't even register when i filmed it the other day.
Maybe my eardrums are shot or something, but I think it sounds really nice, just a couple clicks louder than stock with the silencer in. And most of that noise is probably coming from the my AEM CAI.
Just wondering if you folks had tried the silencer or not

3+ years on my n1 right now. I live in Oregon, it's wet all the time, good as new. Are you speaking from experience or word of mouth?
