Stock heat sheild w/ aftermarket header. (h22a)
What aftermarket headers will the stock heat sheild fit over for an h22a? I know it doesnt bolt on and you have to weld a bracket for it. But just wanna know. Anyone done it before? TIA.
Why would you want to put that ugly heat shield on? It's really only there to prevent you from burning your hands...plus you get nice looking headers to show it off, not hide it.

buy a hood
but if your going to have to weld a bracket. i would get the h22 heat sheild and then bracket that thing on your car!

i would just get a JDM H22 stock header and call it day then, it's already a very good header and it has a 60mm collector which DC and Greddy don't have.
The JDM stock header is a much better header than a DC Sports header. I saw a dyno test of these two headers. They tested the H22 header first, and then the DC Sports one. The DC Sports header lost 5 whp compared to the JDM header.

someone done it with a h22 on his prelude, the engine bay look just like stock, he even cover up his cai with stock intake tube and airbox
Now that is unda-cova......crazy ideas, but they work, I am glad we don't have any emission laws here HOORAY....sorry for everyone else
heatshied also reduce the under hood temp by trapping/keeping all the head inside the runner pipe.
if you ever remove one before, it's actually a three piece design on mine, two sandwich the manifold and one more thicker top piece.
here the picture of the lude i was talking about earlier, best looking 4th gen ever, it got the speed to back it up too, it's not just another H22 swap, it's built.
much prop

If you don't want the oem heat shield you can also check out some header wrap, same principle of heat shield.....but if you don't do the wrap right it ends up looking like *** MO...and props the the lude, very clean and I would imagine fast with a built h22 ummm YA
Thanks for all the replies. Yes Ive seen pictures of that Mugen Prelude. Im not really looking into the Greddy, DC, or Type S headers. Im more leaning towards the AN-R, Header-Tech, Prospeed, SMSP, DTR FAB type headers, custom made street headers with a 2.5 inch collector. Im wondering if any of those brands have runners that will fit into the stock H22A heat sheild. Im also not looking into any header wraps because one an inspector sees it he'll send me home. Thanks again for the replies, keep em coming.
