OK guys....I need some Major help relay probs
its a 95 civic dx the problem just started this morning. In ACC the car is fine. right when i put the key to the ON position, the car just loses power and the lights and everything dims and the main relay clicks really fast. then the power gradually comes back and the lights are bright again. then when i try to start.....nothing.....no crank....nothing and the power dies again. there is another sound of fast clicking coming from the steering column? you guys think its the ign relay?
This happened in my girlfriends Jetta a few weeks ago. We took out the battery and cleaned the terminals and clamps with some Coke and then it was fine. Check the terminals and posts on the battery..... white chalky stuff = no start.
id say check your terminals and then put the batt on a charger for a bit. if that was the prob and it dies again i would recomend checkin your alternator and the rest of your charging system.
I noticed you live in MN....so you must have cold weather. In cold weather it is really hard for the small honda battery to start. It must be the battery or the alternator. What you described about the lights is classic dead battery symptoms.
its not the battery guys....the motor didn't have any oil when i checked...i'm guessing the car doesn't have enough juice to crank a siezed motor? hahahaha. ****....oh well....the dx motors are a dime a dozen. you guys think this would cause my symptoms above?
