Need help with steering wheel vibration in 88 CRX SiR (with B16A)
I just picked up this car a couple of weeks ago. This was a converted 88 CRX Si with B16A & LSD Y1 tranny, all done by Redshift Racing in Vancouver, BC. The motor mounts are Redshift, which aren't as good as Hasport, but they'll do for now.
The problem I have is with a nasty vibration which I haven't the slightest idea where it's coming from. The steering wheel vibrates non-stop even at idle (in neutral). Can anyone who's done this conversion tell me what to check for?
I want to deal with this ASAP!
Thanks!

check that the rear transmission mount isn't resting on the crossmember. Also, there will always be a -little- vibration, due to the mounts being made from polyurethane. How bad is it?
Can't really say how bad it is, it's more annoying than anything. Plus there are rattles coming from the rear where the relocated battery is. (in the hatch area, inside a wooden enclosure...the lid rattles)
I haven't had time to fully inspect with a fine toothed comb, but this weekend I plan too. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see what's going on!
