Default Need help with exhaust!!

Ok, i have a problem. I have recently been told that the duals on my 98 Civic EX (1.6L) were killing what little *umph* my motor may actually have. For any information you mad need, of course it's one pipe (running off a stock header) back to under the right side of the trunk, and then Y's. They're simply two Magnaflow tips, and i was simply wondering:

ARE THEY TRUELY KILLING MY performance? (I was told something to do with 'back pressure') I mean, i'm running a 75 NX wet shot, and could i expect maybe a little MORE kick, with it ran back to one pipe?

You have to have backpressure if you are running cats. Thats what a resonator is for. With out that, it would blow out the cat.
