Default Traction Probelms in my Type R

Ok here is my problem. i got a 01 Type R with ground control coil overs and i make 215whp and 149tourque at trackmasters dyno. Anyways i got a msd 2 step and i launch at 3700rpm on my toyo t1-s. everything hooks up wonderfully but when v-tec kicks in the tires are just spinnin. i throw it into second gear and it does the same thing and third fear is fine. I was thinking maybe some after market rear shocks would be nice or some Drag radials would cover up my probelm. you guys got any advice

Are you talking for on the street or strip? For the strip, i definitely recommend getting some slicks. You won't regret it. For the street, suspension definitely helps, and you might want to get some stickier tires. 215whp is a ton.

I work at a major tire dealer that specializes in Toyo's and I will tell you that the T1-s' DO NOT like to slip. They throw a fit if they can't get traction, however, in my opinion they are the best performance tire that money can buy. I would seriously look into traction bars if I was you, the tire spinning that you are having is due to the axles shifting back and forth, also I'm guessing that your car is lowered?? When you lower the car, you greatley risk the chance of blowing your struts, and if you have blown struts, then they aren't doing they're job at keeping the tire on the road or surface. I would start by replacing the sturts (even tthough your car is an 01', depending on mileage) and then I would look into traction bars. Moda car sells them, and I know that it will make you blow the tires off a little easier, but at the same time, the sooner they get done spinning, the sooner you can hook up. I'm positive that changing your suspension set-up isn't gonna make that big of difference on a street driven car (i.e. Apex, tein, etc...) good luck man, nice hp numbers!!
