well a guy is trying to sell me a 99 b18c GSR cylinder head. but i want to know how to identify it so i know for sure its a Gsr head. what should i look for on the cylinder head? and last, how would i know if the head is still good? any info or tips would help thank for your time

 

i think it should say P72

 

the valve cover for the b18's looks differents from the b16 and other b series heads

 

If it has the intake manifold on it, it will curl down if its any other b-series it curls up.The only way to know if it is good is to take it to a machine shop and get it pressure tested. You can also visually check it for obvious cracks in the combustion chamber.

 

there are too numbers on the head to identify the year, i saw a picture here search

 

look for p72 on the head and also there is a year stamp like said above.. its 30 degrees outside or i would go and check to see how its stamped..
