Default Getting ready to do some HEAVY modding

I have 7000 and I need some advice on what to spend it on, I have a list already.

Ok first of all I have a red 98 CX hatch with Si front end and power doors and I am getting lowering springs next week from my brothers friend.

$2400 B18C J-Spec (Not telling you source, all though I can say it's not stolen)
$1100 DC5 Type R Red Recaro front seats
$200 DC2 Type R Rear seats
$90 '99 tail lights
$130 Spoon Wing
$1500 JDM Type R 5 lug with rims
$750 Championship White paint scheme with black on roof
$200 CF Hood

Do you have any suggestions? I don't know if I should skip the 5 lug and opt for some cheaper upgrades or what not..

5 lug is a bling mod in my opinion. sure it helps but i rather go fast with the money. also the seats are a waste to me but its your car. thats almost 2g that you could be putting in your engine. also a 200 cf hood will be **** and a 750 paint job wont be that good either.

i say get some good coilovers, poly bushings, front / rear sway bars, front / rear upper strut bars, BRAKES, and maybe a few goodies for that motor. i'd also skip all that cosmetic stuff till later. just my suggestion. i agree with what he said ^ about the 5 lug, seats, hood, and 750 for a paint job is gonna be crap - unless you're getting hooked up.

Definitely getting hooked up hold on let me show you the guy that did this car for 1000

I kind of want my car to be bling bling, since, with a Type R motor it won't be the fastest around...

You don't get a full, two-tone, complete color change paint job for $750, ya nut. I'd definately not get the paint work done, skip the ITR back seats (the hell do you care about passengers for ), get a big brake kit rather than an ITR 5-lug and put the money you save into upgrades...particularly of the suspension and go-fast variety.

Car is butter, regardless of how much he did... or DIDNT spend.

You can get a paint job for cheap, youll just have to do your homework.

At first I was thinking about doing no comsmetic modding and just doing a turbo with sleeved block but that was when I was getting a GSR motor since I'm getting a jspec that'd be too much trouble.

And who really has a cosmetically nice civic these days, most people I know have their interiors ripped out with a primer job.

Or I could just say to hell with it and buy a 2001 Ducati 996.

If I spent 4500 on a turbo I could get some serious HP... Let me figure out everything.

Go turbo.... buy the motor and what ever else you can afford but if i were you i would buy the turbo as soon as i bought the motor. You can get a complete setup for a t4 turbo with a big *** front mount for like 3600 to 3800 depending on shop you get it from and the hook ups you get on their parts. Screw the back seat just gut it and put down some speaker box carpet and then put some cheap Sparco's in it for about 300 a piece from OG racing and then just slap on a decent suspension and buy a hondata and you will be good. I got a friend with a turbo type r motor in his civic and it is fast as **** when it is tuned right. But that is my personal opinion and it is your car so.....

agreed. dont waste your money. this is coming from people that have either done it and regretted wasting the money or just have enough common sense not to waste money on useless **** when you could be going faster.

i really try to avoid ebay. it's been going to hell lately - too much shady stuff going on there for me. that's a good price, but i'm sure it will go up a good bit. are you sure you even want to go turbo? an NA b18c with some simple boltons might be good enough for you for now at least. also, you don't seem to know all that much about turbos - i'd wait until you knew very thouroughly what you were getting into. building a good turbocharged engine is not easy - it's A LOT harder than most people think.

Well, I have to do it now if I'm ever going to turbo it because I won't have any more money, plus that is buy it now 2900 it's at 1300.

It is a decent deal dude but if i were you when i got that manifold i would take it and have it braced so it doesnt crack from the weight of the turbo when it gets hot.
but it looks like a decent deal and like the dude took alright care of it plus you get a profec b and a triple gauge pod and all the gauges.

But i will have to agree with jwn7 when he says ebay has gone to ****... it is very easy to get scammed on ebay and it is hard to get anything back if you do... i got scamed on a carbon fiber lip on ebay and lost my money and never got the product

In response to your claim of ebay scamming, I am going to request a digital photo of his drivers license and his phone number so I can call him and make arrangements, then I'm going to record every phone call digitally and send him the payment money order to a valid address with signature pickup only and also before I send payment and I'm going to request he fax me a statement saying that everything he is sending me is legitimate and working.

NO, it's not stolen, and for that reason I cannot tell you where or how I am getting it because there is a chance someone might ****** it from me and I can't have that happening.
