Default Mugen computer - shave a second off your time time?

Somebody told me that he had a mugen computer that basically bolts in and shaves about a half a second off 1/4 mile times. I was actually at the track and he was testing the computer in a B18b Civic. The B18b Civic lost almost a second on his 1.4 mile time (from 15.5 to 14.5) and on the stock ITR he dropped his time mabye 1/4 a second from liek 14.8 to 14.3. Anyone know of this computer and if so, what does it do and how safe is it?

hahahhahah.. nice.

those changes are most likely his inconsistent driving.. i've never heard of a good driver dropping that much time from just adding a chipped computer. the mugen proggy has more aggressive timing/fuel maps, different vtec x-over and no rev/speed limiter.. do a search on the board and you can find out quite a bit about it.

Thats basically a 20whp difference in 1/4 mile times.
It takes a lot of mods to get 20 whp.

From what I hear, it makes the ITR far more 'drivable' (ie better spread of torque and a bigger VTEC 'sweet spot' to play with). Plus you can always put the original ECU back, if you need to make a warranty claim on your engine!

You can check it out (plus many other Mugen 'goodies') and order from - http://www.kingmotorsports.com/produ...gra/engine.asp

I want one....!!

this cant be good on a stock car.... I´d like to know more about this ECU, I know that if you have the N1 ECU you have to switch valve springs cause the engine revs higher
