A friend of mine had suggested that you can take the head off a D16Y8, and directly install it onto my stock DX blocl (unsure of engine code, this is new to me). Where can i find a tech write-up, as well as "parts needed" lists? I'm sorry if this has been posted before, just wasn't sure what to search for.

Yes it is possible do a search for "mini me" (without the quotes) try the archived posts there should be plenty of info on that setup. And if you do go with that head you'll need an ex ecu and the intake manifold. Look for posts by Spade and Mistabones, they know a lot about this, just my .02

 

the code for 96-00 dx engine is d16y7. you can also use a vtec head off a 92-95 civic ex. all you basically need is a fullhead complete with intake manifold and some new gaskets and a new ecu or something like a p2p wich is out of a 96-00 ex and its obdII so it should hook right up. im doing the same swap and im using the p28 off a 92-95 civic ex which is obdI. you will need to get a conversion harness for it but it is easier to tune
