Default First time Accord owner???

Ok so I am thinking of getting my uncles 87 Accord DX and I need to know some more about it...Ive never really delt with accords before but Im always ready to learn something new. I have figures out that it is the A20A1. I needs quite a bit of work...new transmission, axels...who knows whatelse but Ive been given that I will be getting it for free, who cares. So if you all could just let me know what kind of tranny it is...where I can get one...any other good info. I will be posting alot more in your forum now so at least I'll get to know some more honda guys. Thanks guys.

I just got a tranny for my 89 at a wrecker. Those are the best places to get stuff for 3rd gens, and the parts are pretty cheap, but built to last. Anythng from an 86 to an 89 will fit, however the timing is different on the trannys for the fuel injection from the cabureator engines. That won't matter really if your mechanic's good, but it can save some time.

3geez.com is a great source of info, and a lot of the guys on this board with 3rd gens are really helpful if you have questions.
