Default 27C256 - did I get the wrong chip?

Here is the ebay auction I won.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...&rd=1

These things look way to small in person. Can I still use them?

yeah you fucked up.

thats a surface mount chip. and it may be one time programmable only. actually i am pretty sure its a 1 shot deal since its not UV erasable.

dont buy chips on ebay. thats asking to get screwed.

it is one-time programmable though, but i am not sure if its worth the trouble to get it programmed and somehow rigged into the ECU.

You want the 29C256-15PC
Dont be too worried about the ns.

You can use a 27C256-15PC, but it is the one time shot deal.

But those legs are definatley wrong for hondata.

yeah that chip in the pic is the absolute wrong one...hence the word MICRO....you want the 27c256 eeproms to look like this:

These eeproms are a one time burn, but can be erased if you have the tool or whatever to do so. I burn a lot/all of my programs on to the 27c256 eeprom. Hondata uses 29c256 just because those are programmable eeproms. Hope that helps..btw, i've bought these blank eeproms off of ebay once before, you just need to know what your reading/buying/interested in, before you start bidding on an item.

yes you can still pull the info off of these chips...... you just cant edit anything on it..if you wanted to, then you need to burn a new chip.
