Default Replacement for GReddy Blue Box

What are my options, I have OBD1.
I know the VAFC and Hondata can work. I know everyone thinks Hondata is better. I would like something that is easy to tune, however. Will VAFC with the included 310s and a high flow fuel pump work as well as a Hondata? I know that combination would cost just as much as a Hondata, but isn't the VAFC easier to tune?
BTW its a 94 GSR about to have a stock "96-99" GReddy kit.

You need 450's if your going to use the AFC hack. It works fairly well, both me an a friend are using it, me on a d16z6 w/ custom volvo t3 turbo kit @ 10lbs and him with a greddy kit on a d15b7. It works very well.

I personally would never buy hondata now that all the new "chip it yourself" programs are floating around... It's just like hondata, for free... Minus a few features, like autotune / nitrous control... But those I can live w/o for a savings of over $1000, not including cost to tune! (money that can be put towards your very own wideband!!!)

I have the greddy kit on my d16y8 and I changed my fuel managment from the blue box to the hack and I am very happy with it.

Ok, what is meant by the VAFC "Hack". Does this have to do with getting resistors for the injectors?

Personnally I'd go with the Hondata. You may think it's over kill and yes it can be hard to tune but if it's your baby and you want it to run right isn't it worth the investment. Remember my friends...

Friends don't let friends tune poorly.

the AFC hack in a nutshell:

get DSM 450 cc injectors + honda resistor box + v/SAFC, wire it all up, set afc settings to -36 across the board, sensor in/out @ #6, and you can boost about 10lbs rather safely. Retard your timing like 3 or 4 degrees @ the dizzy.
