Best Auto-X track in Florida?
Hello all.... my friend and I are looking to visit a Auto-X track in Florida (prefrebly south). I wanted to go to the best one and make it an all day event. It would be my first time out and I have been reading a lot about them.
Thanks for the information, BTW here are the two cars that will be going unless you all would like to go (the Wee-todd crew)

Wow really, then ive had the wrong impression the whole time?!?! hrrm, would somebody mind posting pics of the two types of tacks to run on.... I know obviously what a drag track looks like (moroso)
autox is racing around between cones. road racing(road course, circuit racing, etc) is large tracks such as Lime Rock or Watkins Glen, just to name a few, where you do laps with other cars on the track at the same time.

Best autocross area.. hmm.. they all suck that I've been to but some in hO-town area (Val college) are supposed to be nice.
Best autocross on a test track (cones on a "test road course") = gainesville raceway by far.
best track = sebring by far.
Daytona is nice as well, so is homestead but they are more dangerous. Moroso I don't care for personally.

Autocross is always an all day event.
Its alot of fun, but its not a 'meet'. Its usually in a parking lot with cones defining the course... road courses are permanent tracks, are much larger and much faster. And they usually have concrete walls and tire walls. Start with autocross, do a year or so of events, then move to open track.

FL should have events all winter.

Dunno really. It just doesn't do anything for me. At least it's a little safer than it used to be though. Sebring is closer and a much better track so why go to moroso?

do a search n00b.
j/k
I like Hawk blues. Are there better pads out there? yes, I'm sure there are. However, hawk blues have never failed me so my logic says to keep using them.
For other good options, talk to Andie @ carbotech. I'm sure he'll have some good suggestions.
Rotors.. I run autozones.
fluid, I use and suggest ATE super blue. Andie @ cobalt should have that fluid as well.

Here in Jacksonville we are the Bucaneer region. Our last event was 2 weekends ago, but we have a charity event up at Jeckyll island at the convention center. The first event for next year will be at Whitehouse airfeild 3rd week in january. RJ is correct, we have at least 1 event in our region every month. We do one/two events at the gainesville roadcourse, setup with cones and gates, but still very fast (80 MPH), 1 event at Roebling road on the track using the first 3 or 4 turns with gates and cones, and the rest or our events are on the airfield which is concrete. very sticky and very fast.
Moroso would be closest to you and has a road course. Chin isn't running there again anytime soon, but you can join the NASA FL chapter and they have lots of dates scheduled there.

I definitely recommend Chin Motorsports, too. They're a little more expensive than NASA, but you get way more track time.
