Engine mods for '92
Need some ideas for engine mods for a '92 ex. Other than cold air and exhaust, what are the best ideas for it? its daily driven and and auto... yeah i know ... a waste but i got it cheap and its a clean car. Im looking for something that can compeat with friends and maybe later change to a SCCA racer. Im looking at some suspension mods and probably will go with some coil overs from nuespeed if i can get some. anyway help me out here if ya can.
H22A swap ($$$) w/ manual tranny
Manual tranny swap, and put in a lightened flywheel/clutch combo while you have the tranny off
Performance rebuild
Those 3 options would give you a noticable increase in perf, and in the case of the manual swap, could make the car much more fun to drive.
I wouldn't consider bolt-ons unless you paired it with the H22A or a perf rebuild.

Agreed h22 swap would be fun, if you don't have the $$$ for it, IMO.....I recommend i/e/h (those are more finishing parts) plugs, wires, t/b, ignition, nos, or a turbo for your f22, it is a beast when its turbo.....but if you have high miles wouldnt really recommend without a rebuild, but by then you have money for an h22, however a rebuilt f22 w/turbo would beat the tar out of a h22 (stock) also that f22 and turbo would turn your auto into melted butter quick, would have to replace it with a better tranny, I would say H22 with manny conversion. And there are tons of different combinations you can have just depends on what you want from it. Hope this helps.
