Default Question about Volk/Rays Wheels

What's the deal with the two different dates? One date says 2001.4.4 and the other says 99/04/06. Anyone know the details?

The 99 date is the orignal date as it was made and exported from Japan. The 01 logo is from mackin's dist of Rays wheels for when they stickered it for sell and plus bar coded so they keep tabes on it.

That does not sound right to me. I ordered these wheels from a local shop Feb. 1, 2001 (Wisconsin). The wheels arrived in California four months later, May 10, 2001. A couple weeks afterwards they were on my car. How could they have been exported from Japan in 1999? That means my wheels are older than my TYPE R even though I ordered them 1.5 years after I took delivery of my car!?!?

Think about it Ray made these wheels where made in Japan. They where labeled at that time to be shipped out to there dist. Most dist are required to buy around 50,000-75,000 buy dist. contract from most Japanese companies in auto parts. So they where bought but they could stayed inventory for a yr. Look at the date on the new label 01 apirl 4th it was stickered and inventory. More then likely they know how many wheels come in and as they get ready for sell there stickered and bar coded into a database to remove those wheels from there warehouse inventory. I for one know items can set for awhile. I have 3 sets of spoon header that have set in boxes for about4 months now...same with Mugen headers. Also if they spent 50-75 g's on wheels they probably ordered around 40 sets or so..of popular wheels that rays sells domestically.

Now as for the 4 month delay that doesn't sound right because even if you don't look at the older label but the just the new one. Which is dated this yr how can it be possible the wheels took 4 months get to u when there marked as being there in April. I know for fact even special order wheels from Rays and SSR and other companies can be had within 1 month and half and be in the dealers hands or customers hands..in that time frame.
