JDM ITR O2 Secondary (catalytic converter) Sensor - Where can I get one?
Just found out tonight that the USDM O2 sensor doesn't fit in a JDM ITR cat.
Anyone know of an O2 sensor that'll fit and can be found "cheap"? Or should I keep the plug in there (17mm bolt) and run a O2 sim?

Between taking down the cat, getting a new plug welded in, buying a new gasket for the cat/bpipe and putting it all back together again in my cold/dark garage ... I'm looking for the easiest plug and play method. I think it would be faster and less of a hassle (could be wrong though ...
) to find the O2 and just pop it in.
Probably would've done the reweld job if it was spring/summer/fall.

Well, dont you have to take your cat off the car anyways to install the new o2 sensor? If that is the case.... I'd rather get the cat casing fitted than try to find a jdm o2. But that's just me, and jdm o2's might be plentiful - I have no idea.

I should ask Wai to smack ya upside the head.
I don't need to take off the cat to put on the O2 sensor. Just jack up the car, slide in the jack stands and crawl underneath the car. Installing the O2 sensor while the cat is on the car is easy. Undoing all the bolts and such is more time consuming.

Hrmph. I can't mess with my o2 unless the cat is lower than its current position. I've had three H/C/E setups... same thing.
My bad

Yeah. I know what you mean but I already removed the heat shield above the cat so I have a little more room to play with. And since the JDM ITR cat is smaller/shorter than the USDM version, the tunnel area above the O2 sensor is more spacious.
I'm on my 2nd H/C/E setup (not counting the stock crap that the car came with). Hehe.

JDM one doesn't have an O2 Sensor AFAIK Its supposed to be a Heat Sensor, which is why it's smaller.
Easiest thing to do is to have someone cut out the JDM Bung and weld in an 02 Bung.

Gaah. I was afraid of this. Oh well. Thanks for the info Mike.
I guess I'll try a O2 simulator before resorting to taking the darn thing down.

Sorry I'm late
I had JB welded a bolt in there (wrong size) because I didn't have the right sized one at the time. Needless to say this sucker came flying out with a bang on 495, so I picked up the correct sized metric bolt and used some Loctite on it.
Yeah just run a 02 Sim. Some people plug in the stock 02 and wrap it in tinfoil...it's got a heating element (or so I hear) so I wouldn't want it inside the cabin...and then just having it chill attached to the cat is asking for trouble...SO...
yeah, get the 02 sim.
