How do you test the oil pressure sender for a gauge?
How do you test the sender for the autometer electric oil presssure gauge? I know the gauge is good.... And I know that its getting oil to the sender and that wiring is good.... Any help would be great!

let me guess, electric sender, now gauge is dead..........

Thanks for your inquiry. It sounds like you may have a defective
sender; at 0 psi, the sender should reflect 240 ohms, with a variance of
17 ohms +-. Voltages are not really what to look for; it is the
resistance that the gauge reads off of. We will be shipping you a
replacement sender via US mail; however, I MUST suggest you remote
locate the sender so that it is not directly mounted to the motor, as
excessive vibration will continue to "kill" the senders. I recommend
running a line from your "t" fitting, and remote locate the sender on
either a fenderwell or firewall, to isolate the vibration that gets
transmitted to the gauge from being directly connected to the motor.
BTW the won't replace the sender anymore.

Also- you may need to make sure the body of the sender is grounded. If you remote mount, depending on how you mount, the body of the sender may not be grounded.
