Default Tire recommendations? other than Azenis

looking for an excellent tire, to be used mostly for street, but often track use as well. or not, i have no idea what i plan on doing. i have a set of te37's 15x7 im looking to put sneakers on. my car is fully setup for autoX / circuit use, but is adjustable for the occasional street race... i also have a set of 1996 GSR wheels (similar to te37's) that im painting broze to roll on as well. maybe ill put azenis on those, and some sort of R compound on the volks.. lets hear your opinions.

I was honestly impressed with the Kuhmo MXs on the track and they are very nice on the street too.

Wait. You have 15x7" TE37's for your ITR. Then, you're somehow gonna use 4x100 15x6" '96 GSR wheels on your ITR as well? Am I missing something here? I surely hope, you won't do 5-to-4-lug conversion just to use the GSR wheels. Maybe, your ITR is already 4-lugged... I dunno.

Sounds like he's using the ITR forum to ask questions about some car other than an ITR.

its going on my all-motor gsr. 95.. but no one else on h-t know anything. if i went to the regular integra forum, they would rather comment on what color i should paint my 96 gsr's.. but as a fellow itr owner, i ask you guys...

i lize the azenis very much, they are just very heavy.. good sidewall strength, and great traction, but alot of rotational mass.

I would go with Falken ziex tires.... they own! I had them, got azenis and i think im going to go back with the ziex tires again when these wear down. I dont autoX enough to justify buying them again... although azenis are some aggresive looking tires

Nonsense. I think the folks on the regular Integra forum know what they're talking about - including discussions about tires, brakes, and other technical topics. Why don't you ask your question there, where it belongs?

Next thing you know, people are going to be asking here on the ITR forum about tires for their Supras and monster trucks. Just because ITR owners are so smart...

I have tried Azenis, Es100, A032, Re010

For dry street driving i like azenis
For wet street driving I like Es100
A032's would be nice on the dry street if they were cheap, but they are not so use those on track to get your money's worth.
Re010 wore down way too fast for me and I felt that Azenis had more grip.

Only downside to azenis is that you have to get 205's which are pretty wide for the stock rim.

My friend has those on his EG, and ran only 1 second behind me in my Lude @an autox event.

Im very impressed w/the Ziex.

Huh? I have over 20K miles on my original RE010 tires and they still have plenty of tread left. And they stick quite nicely, thank you!

We're talking about tires on an ITR here, though. You know - "ITR" as in "ITR Forum"...

Kumho MX

Great price, works really well on the track and works fairly well in the rain too...

If he owns a Type-R and they might one day be used on it I would think this is just as relevant a question here too.

Not to pick on you Ken but my RE010's wore out in 14,000 miles and I mean completely worn out. THey had a couple of autocrosses on them but nothing else but street miles. Could have to do with Temperatire differences between our areas.

My 010's were done in 6500 miles. They don't last long at all.

Another thing for the future is keep in mind how many times this question has been asked... I see a thread like this once or twice a week.

Mine were not completely worn out, probably could have still used them. I don't know how you got 20K out of them though.

Chill out buddy. Regardless of whether or not he owns an R this is still a relevant post. I'm sure everyone's posted once or twice outside of the ITR forum, should we all be booted for such a terrible crime?

Wow, thats odd, I actually hate my set! Do you have the 512's or the 502's? The tread design on the tires is really deep, and are made of a soft compound so under high stress (Taking turns fast) I have a feeling that there might be some bending or folding of the tread patter. And with that distortion comes a smaller contact patch with the pavement. With my old POS Hankooks I could hardly break loose my tires in the rain in 1st, now with the Ziex I loose traction all the time.
