Code 14 (usually IACV) - Can leaking headgasket cause this also?
I got code 14 a couple of times and bought a new IAC valve to hopefully fix it. Well, tonight when I was about to install the new IACV I noticed that the "oil" inside the catch can inbetween my pcv and intake manifold looked like coffee with cream in it.
The oil inside the valve cover doesn't look bad, though. Hopefully I caught it before any damage was done.
So, do I still have a bad IACV in addition to the headgasket or is it possible that just the headgasket caused the idle problems and code?

Since no one has answered yet, I've been searching through hundreds of posts about headgaskets and most people recommend OEM headgaskets, copper spray and ARP head studs. The ARP's need to be retorqued after a while. Are they really necessary for someone who's running 8-10 psi on a Greddy kit?
BTW, I really need people's opinions ASAP. My inspection expired and I need to order this stuff tomorrow, if possible. Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm pretty sure it's blown, but what I'm trying to find out is if a blown headgasket can cause a code 14. There is no excessive smoke coming from the exhaust. I've had what looks like oil residue in the overflow for months, but it's very slight.
yes a blown hg could cause your car to idle bad and your iacv might be dirty. If there is black or white stuff( i forgot which one) in your raditor then your hg is blown. Change the hg and see if it idles. if it still idles bad, clean your iacv with carb/choke cleaner and it should idle good, if not replace the iacv too.

If there is oil in the coolant headgasket is blown. Change headgasket and clean IACV like Integra B18b1 said and see if problem persists.

Thanks guys, I'll just do process of elimination. I already bought a brand new IACV and thought maybe it was money down the drain. Knowing my luck, it probably is!
