Default Question for the daily drivers?

I just wanted to know how far your daily commutes are? I have to drive to work five days a week and I have to drive 65miles one way, which is a total of 130miles a day on the R. I really hate to put that many miles on it everyday. I am going to buy my JDM front end first and then I am going to save up for a P.O.S. CRX. Right now I am only at 34k but that number is movin on up pretty quick. Does anyone out there have a further commute than me in the R?

wow you're going to get a JDM front because you put on a lot of miles and want to save for a beater? i say get a beater first!

I drive roughly 50 miles a week if that..

Yup get a beater first. Don't pay for the front end out of pocket. I'm thinking of building an EG with a b16. Or maybe a 89 240 coupe or fastback with an older skyline motor. Both beater projects would be under 4500.

Dude, you can buy a nice beater for the price of an Accord front end.

With the jdmfront money, you can get a nice beater. That is what I did and no regrets

I got my beater while the R was in the shop getting the front end done. 5g front end attracts a lot of attention to a car that doesn't need anymore. 2g daily beater blends in with the crowd a lot better. The beater is a great investment .

My advice is to move closer to where you work, or find a new job closer to home. 65 miles is nuts!

My advice is for you to figure out why you are so upset about putting mileage on your car. It's a car. better driven too far than not driven at all! if you keep up with regularly scheduled maintenance, etc, i dont see the problem.

oh, and Like SPlat and a few other stunnaz pointed out, for the price of a accord front end, install and paint, you can have a REALLY NICE second car/beater. Hardly a beater when you spend 3K on it.

Driving to post for me is only about 6 miles one way. If I were you I would definitely get a reliable beater.

Buy a skateboard and hold on to the back of a jeep like MJFox in Back to the Future. On that note, somebody find a fluxcapacitor and make their R a time machine . It is about time for a Part 4. On topic though........i would say get a beater for sure. You will rack up so many miles before you know it.
