However at only 2200 lbs. for the whole car, are the upgraded calipers really necessary. Also it doesn't have the Spoon gauge cluster.

Actually, I found all the Mugen parts on the car a bit more interesting

I can't believe someone asked how they could turn this into a street car
If you want a street car get a stock itr. Some people are such idiots.
If driven on the street I can guarantee that it would get stolen in less than a day.

spoon using mugen parts is nothing new. The yellow eg6 in their old parts catalog was using silver mugen rnr wheels. The spoon super taikyu s2000 uses mugen aero parts (dont all the s2000s in that series?).

I think you're dwelling on that comment a little too much.
You can't say you wouldn't love driving that thing around town
WHy wouldn't Spoon use Mugen parts...Mugen's better, right

Damnit Eli...would you shut your mouth about your T1R issues. It's old, seriously. Don't like it? ...get rid of it then! Simple as that.
And if you want thieves to take your car, just sell it instead. Please.

I'd LOVE to get rid of it... Believe me, nothing short of the second coming of Christ would make me happier. Unfortunately, I, along with a few other people have been waiting for warranty replacements since 03/03. (That's nearly 10 months for those of you playing at home.)
What's funny about what you said is that Type One Racing is a company started/owned by Ichisma-San, aka Mr. Spoon. As Spoon becomes more involved internationally with motorsports, Type One is supposed to be a bigger tuner shop, etc. They better get this kind of stuff ironed out first....
Chris - assuming that T1R = Type One Racing... it HAS to be.
On topic: That's really cool. I hope it finds a great home. I sure as hell want it, but let's see: no towing vehicle, haven't paid off my current R.... nowhere to store the spoon car.... I lose.

T1R and Type One Racing in Japan are two different and unrelated companies.

T1R is AJR's lil own brand. Type One is related to spoon tho in japan... they are across the street from each other. AJR got teh rights to use the Type One name so they can make exhaust, headers and such
When the first generation was advertised it was Type One. Then they changed it to T1R. Very misleading if you ask me. I still like my gen 1 setup though.

It would need at least some modifying. I know, for example, that the safety equipment is not up to the NASA CCR that the Honda Challenge uses.
