I'll give you 75 cents, plus shipping! J/k of course.

Really depends on how people feel about mileage, how badly they need one.

I'd probably pay around $1000 for just the shortblock if it were in pretty good shape. If it were not if reasonable shape, then I'd have to see it and then make an offer.

Brand new one from the dealer is around 2200, so I think 1000 is decent.

sunnyside has just the head for 1300.. tack on another 300 for a new vtec solenoid, 150 for a valve cover.. if it needs IM/TB that's another 550 used..

so, for just the head with internals and a valve cover with 75k miles, I wouldn't offer more than 850.. probably closer to 700..

edit, adjust accordingly depending on what it comes with.. if it has everything attached, i'd offer about 1000..

I'm asking $75 + shipping

I've had at least 8-10 people tell me you can just JB Weld the holes up, other than that, it is in awesome condition! I'll even throw in 3 Toda Racing pistons (slightly used).

That's what I was referencing in my above post, if it came with all the fun little attachments like the oil pan, crank pulley, water pump, etc, basically a complete shortblock then $1000 would be good.

shortblock = the block, not the head

I have no idea maybe somebody hear could tell me. What Im thinking is that it shows that the block was purchased separately and was not a fully assembled motor.

Same here.. it goes away after you run the motor.

I got a brand new shortblock from the dealer for $2,000. For a used block I wouldn't pay over $1,000.

Every block that comes in the US are track, meaning Honda knows what warehouse its going and what dealerships is getting it.

When you get a new one, the carton box has already been marked and inspected at the main warehouse (Torrance). Hence you'll see the block ID# hand written on the outside of the card-board box.

This goes with NSX motors as well.
