p72 (GsR) Ecu For 92-96 Prelude? Possible?Whats the Deal?
Hey Fellas, I'm going to turbo charge my h23 prelude si soon and I have search around about h23 turbo car. So far, i found some prelude h23 turbo car that use the Gsr ECU. and i don't understand why? is it possible by switiching the harness? How good is it? Please help me out. i would really appreciate your thoughts and quote.
The only Si's that run the gsr ecu run hondata and disable vtec. If you run hondata you can also run the p74 or p75.
okay, now i kinda know. thanks.
Also, i call around shops, and they offer 295 for the s200 but i think that doesn't include everything though. and is it easy to wire the harness from the p72/p28 ecu? and how much does a shop charge for wiring it for you? i know it depends on the labor but give me an examples. Can y'all tell me, is it really worth putting the money in for the system and have a technician put it on for you? I do have enough budget for it. All your inputs are appreciated.

If you have experience soldering boards then you should have no problem but if not you can easily burn your ecu. So it is worth having hondata or someone qualified to install the eprom socket.
Some shops will give you a good deal if you purchase everything from them--ecu, hondata, dyno tuning. Check around. Also you might want to read more in the http://www.hondata.com website.

Well to me it matters all on who tunes each around your area. Which ever better tuner you have that perfers one over the other i would go with that one.

thanks guys. I called this place on the internet call (honda-driven.net) they priced the whole system (s200+ecu from skunk, p28)for 807.00 shipped. so i guess i don't have to take it to the shop. i can just plug and play then? if thats how it work. but then to tune it, i have to take it to the shop. or is there anything more i need to do? thanks to all..
The best place to purchase the hondata is through http://www.wiredspeedlab.com, talk to kyle. Those guys get two thumbs up from me.
The p74 ecu will work fine but I believe those do not activate your secondaries which help produce more torque from 2000-5200rpms.
Do a search for p74 or p75 OBD1 ecu's for sale on the board, a decent price is $75 bucks. Talk to the guys at wired speed lab, they might have one laying around.

so if you are using a p74 does that mean your secondaries aren't functional or did you remove them or are you operating them another way? I think I read something about being able to make the secondaries kick in at any given rpm if the secondaries are controlled by another device...
