Now that I have 100 freaken dollar Honda Badges to put on my ITR, does anyone know what I can do about the Acura Badge on the left of the trunk? I know it has pegs. Is there a HONDA badge that fits or do I have to get it shaved? Has anyone done anything else? Thanks.

Exactly my point, that's good stuff, but a $400 trunk shaving isn't in my budget right now. It looks like they did a nice job.

 

how'd you do that?

 

Get the HONDA badge from a 92-93 accord, cut off the right peg on the back of it. Use the left peg to line it up.

 

Also notice you have not rear wipper fluid sprayer, or wipper.. very nice.

How so? I appreciate clean lines like shaved emblems, but getting rid of functional items on a street car? JMHO of course.

yeah, that's a 97 w/ 98 rear tail lights...and 97's don't have rear wiper fluid squirter nor do they have a rear wiper (they should have left it that way)

BTW, it looks really sweet w/ no badge at all on the left hand side...I haven't removed mine yet, but I did get a honda badge to replace it w/...don't know from what, but it's huge....almost twice the size of the Acura, so I may not put it on at all, but then i'd need to fill in the holes, and I don't want to be bothered w/ that.

IMMORTAL....why do you have a 97 rear bumper on your obviously 98+ R? just curious

Not to be rude or anything but the rear window wiper is hardly necessary.

 

I have never used the rear wiper...

This is weird that this was brought up today. Looking at my R in the garage just today I thought to myself that it might be cool to repace the Acura red emblems with Honda emblems and shave the Acura badge on the rear...

I was planning on doing that this weekend. Do you have to get the cap from Honda? How long does it take, 10 minutes or so, or is ther hidden labor?

Yes sir, and your looking at $200-$400 to cover two stupid little holes. Don't get me wrong, it's worth it, there are just other things I'd like to spend that $ on.

 

I ordered a "kit" from Mike K...(Naples, FL Acura) it's $20 and gives you a new rubber insert, a bolt, washer, and cap that you need to do it...he's cool too, so he should be able to get one for you ASAP if he doesn't have them in stock already...

I had never taken the lining out the hatch (plastic) so it took me like a half hour b/c I was careful not to break anything...

If I were to do it again, 15mins, tops...all you have to do is pop the cap off the wiper, unbolt it from the glass, pull the wiper off...then remove the motor from the inside under the plastic, 3 nuts come off, pop the clip that gives it power, and you're done...

Ok I may be stupid, but I have a 98 and I don't know how to open my hatchfrom inside the car, it dosen't have a latch like the GSR, LS,...If you shaved your keyhole how in the hell do you pop the hatch. I did just get my car so forgive me if the question is reeeall dumb.
