Weight Reduction Tip #246
Weight Reduction Tip #246
Aluminum lug nuts.
All 25 aluminum lugs weight only 14 oz which means each individual lug is just over 1/2 oz (.56 oz each). The stock steel lug nuts together weigh in at 23 oz or (1.1 oz each). I’m not exactly sure why the aluminum lugs are quite a bit longer than the stock ones. They are probably designed that way so they fit more applications.
I do not know what brand they are but I got them from http://www.bigbeartire.com a while back when my TE-37’s were put on the car. They cost about $2.50 per lug.

Hmm.....interesting....but only the differences of 13 oz? I'll dehydrate myself before driving and it's a good 3 pounds of weight reduction.

Mmmmmmm, rotational weight!!
Anything that moves/rotates that is lightened is significantly better than stationary weight.
Only problem with amunimum is that it strips easily. But at least the bolts will strip, and not the lug threads!
