The latest Altimas use a transponder-immobilizer circuit that relies on communication between the key to the ignition cylinder. You will need a transponder bypass kit in order for the remote start to work. Some universal bypass kits will require that a key to be left in the car at all times. This is the least secure method but the easiest. If you choose this route, you'll have to hide the bypass unit in a secure place. There is another unit that does not require a key (preferred method) but you will need a Nissan scan tool in order for it to work. For more info on the bypass kits check out:

Check bypasskits.com---they will probably say to use the universal"key in a coffin"type bypass---if your worried about someone finding the key and taking your car, simply grind the key down, rendering it useless

yeah, not worried about someone finding a key. its nissan charges 50$ for a extra key! lol. it would be cheaper to get a programable unit. oh well.
