Honda original oil filter. I even tried A&H in the states.
The oil filter that came off my type R said "made in Japan". I looked in the oil filter and there was also a check valve. The oil filter I bought from the dealer (part.# 15400-PT7-xxx) had no check valve, or one that I could'nt see.

Does anyone know where I could get the OEM (made in Japan oil filters)?

The dealerships I called with the part number cross-referenced the ones made in Canada or US.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Are you talking about just normal oil filter or the Hamp oil filters that are abit more hi performance then the normal OEM ones? Hamp makes both filters. I think it's odd no dealership can get you the parts for your car. Seems like oil filter wouldn't be that hard to replace. Also what colour is it? I believe the ones I've seen have been black in recent or white..i can't remember which. The Hamp filters normally come in green colour.

I called 5 different honda/acura dealers and none of them could get the "made in Japan" oil filters. Buts it a "Genuine Honda Part" This does'nt make any sense

 

dood.. i dont really think it matters... just use any honda filter... you'll be ok

 

That filter along with the HAMP are Japan only, The filter that you get on the car was put on when it was made in Japan.
The US and Canada and Japan Filters are All different.
DO a search under oil filters and you should get some info, theres also a web page of a guy Marcucci who did alot of testing on these filters

I ordered the HAMP oil filters from Mike (IPS racing) sounds like a really cool guy. Still wish they had them up in here in TO so I won't deal with customs, etc etc.
