Honda City Turbo... what the?
I've acquired a Honda City Turbo, (for those of you who know what they are.. if you do know, don't laugh... it only cost me $250!) and was kind of wondering if anyone has had any experiencing boosting these things up. I've heard with the right weapons, they can get up to 220hp at 22psi on stock turbo and stock internals, but once again, I'm yet to run into someone with any experience of this nature...
Ideas?

is the name of the turbo "honda city"?????........or are you talking about a turbo made for the "honda city"?
well, i have heard that the honda city have a lot in common with the civics, but a lot of parts that fit on the civic does not fit on the city.......and a lot of their parts look the same, but it would not work with the civic.....
i am not sure about this too....
anyone?

3" turbo back , prolly would have to be customes, intake, hardpiping, etc...larger front mount, larger injectors, hondata stage IV
What the hell is a Honda City Turbo??? A small honda turbo that was available in places other then the USA? What size motor....5spd, what years?? How big of a car?
Hook me up with some info...or a place where I can find some.

Yes, I've also heard you can get 220 hp out of it. Unless you have a good source of replacement parts, I wouldn't try doubling the horsepower on the stock internals.
Jeez... i thought u guys were in the "tech" forum where people are meant to know stuff...
Stolen from somewhere... "
The City Turbo was manufactured from 1982-84, the Turbo 11 was manufactured until 1986. Both models featured a digital speedo surrounded by a Tacho so that all relative information could be taken at a glance. The last run of Turbo 11s had a normal speedo/tacho assembly. The motors in both models were essentially the same. An all alloy, 1237cc, CVCC, turbocharged, multipoint fuel injected motor with a magnesium rocker cover and 8.5:1 compression ratio powered the beast. The Turbo 11's were intercooled, had a revised plenum, throttle body and inlet manifold, a larger turbo compressor housing and a slightly raised (8.6:1) compression ratio. "
The car I have obtained is a 1982 City Turbo, in mint condition, with 92,000km. 92,000km in like almost 20 years is pretty low. Elderly female owner who liked gutsy car but passed away recently... I would say the turbo hasn't been boosted good and hard for a long long time, if ever.... sweet....
It comes with an IHI turbo of some sort, and boosts 12psi standard, putting out the big 110hp. My idea is to drop in a T03, front mount a Twin Turbo Supra intercooler with some custom piping, Tial external wastegate, 2.5" exhaust system, boost tap, but an engine rebuild isn't a bad idea either...
The pistons are apparently pretty flat allowing for nice boost levels.
Ever seen one of these?

Heheh, what a beast

"Mugen and Honda ran a single make racing series using the city turbos. The cars were based on the production vehicles as were the motors. The motors had larger exhaust, injectors, production type turbo (with 22psi), production type intercooler, and a modified camshaft. These cars did the standing 1/4 mile in 13.5 seconds (which isn’t bad for a frontwheel drive car set up for circuit racing). They ran very fat tyres (9” front and 7” rear). The official mugen figure for power output is 138+hp @ 5500rpm but the torque is around 22kgm @ 3500rpm (standard twin cam VTEC 1600 has 16kgm, NSX V6 has about 28kgm). It takes little work to produce these power figure in a street motor. The cars from the one make racing series were bought by an Australian entrepreneur with the view to continuing the series in Australia. Unfortunately all the vehicles were in a wharehouse in Osaka waiting to be shipped when an earthquake struck and buried the lot."
