Default #0015 Attempted Theft

Mother *******!

I have had this car for 4 years with no problems and now someone or some people tried to steal it. Busted the drivers side window and slid through as to not open the door to set off the alarm. This was in a well lit parking lot right in front of a major drag or street. They tore the steering column all to hell in attempt to access the ignition hex wtih a screw driver or some other tool. Luckily they weren't smart enough or experienced enough to over ride the starter dissengagement or the Immobilizer. They couldn't get it started so that's the only reason I still own it! They Stole some of my personal affects. Now I have to worry about this happening on a regular basis! It was at my place of work, so they may just give it another shot when the opportunity arrises. I still have to fork out for my deductible so I will have to fork out $ regardless. I guess it's just more of the same for me, getting hit in the ***** with a ******* recking ball on a daily basis for some bullshit or another!

Glad you have the starter dissengagement or the Immobilizer installed.
Might want to stash the R somewhere else for a while.

Good luck on keeping it safe!

Good old NJ for you. Highly suggest swapping cars for work. It's bound to happen again eventually. Best luck with your R here in the tri-state...I was always worried about theft and ended up getting owned by an off camber turn and some deer.

Guess the stunnas are gearing up for the holiday rush

Exactly...it is Christmas...the best way for a stunna to celibrate the birth of Jesus Christ is to steal stuff!

Got an estimate of $1200-$1500 dollars worth of damage not including my nearly $300 worth of Oakley X-Metals they stole as well. They need a couple of slugs put into their *** and that thieving **** will come to an end QUICK!

its the change in weather. rainy, windy, and cold weather is the best time to do some crime. people dont look out the windows as much ,or even have the windows open ,everyones laying up in the house .. so you can't hear the perps doing thier "thing". plus not many people hang outside when its cold out.

I have to pay a $500 deductible, so the $1200-$1500 is going to the Ins company! Either way I got Fucked because of a thief or thieves. I have to pay out no matter what. Plus they made of with my almost $300 sunglasses. The question is whether they will try again or if someone else will and eventually succeed!

just make sure you layer protection and always keep an eye out. getting a beater car is definetly the best idea, but unlikely if short on $$.

isn't the Immobilizer System in all ITR's? So doesn't that mean the ITR is not stealable w/o towing it?

Wrong! There is a way around everything. I thought the same way as you until the day I walked in my garage and didn't see my ITR.

Micro

I know that it is a high theft car, along with all hondas, but I didn't buy the car to leave it parked in a garage for 95% of it's life because of the chance of theft. I should be able to leave it in a parking lot if I want or take it anywhere. Some people track their cars occasionally, some permanantly and like me not at all. The point is I bought it to drive, no matter where! I shouldn't have to keep it parked almost it's entire life because of fear of theft. If that is the case, there is no point in owning the car period. It always amuses me when I see these Exotic cars in the Exotic Auto Trader. Ferraris, Lambos, Porches 5-10 years old with only 5,000 miles or less on them. What the **** is the point of having a car if you never drive it! If you want to admire something that you will never drive save yourself a **** load and buy a Monogram model kit! If I had an Exotic like the ones above, I would literally run it right into the ground! ****, it's a car, drive it, put a 100,000 miles on it, if you can aford the car you should be able to enjoy it! Not put it in a garage and when you want to impress someone take them out and brag about it, then give them a 5 mile joy ride in it and leave it parked for another 6 months. Just my opinion, but I take the car everywhere because that is it's purpose, to get from point A to point B. The problem is people are too ******* lazy to work for the things they want now days and punishment for this **** is a joke. For all the thieves out there, GET A ******* JOB AND EARN WHAT YOU OWN!
