why did acura stop production for the acura cl?

 

sales were down and not much demand for them.

also, honda released the accord, which inturn, took the cl-s spot, as well as tried to lure the prelude buyers into that section. Did it work? I think so... 240hp 3.0L v6. Some magazines also did a comparison with Euro-Accord R 220hp vs the new accord 6spd. They deduced it was due to the new refinements that the accord won. Also, i think honda made mistake with sticking the same engine as the tl-s into the cl-s. They shouldve offered something that would stand out in that market. Hopefully honda has something under their sleeves. I would love to see honda jump in the 2.0L turbo awd market. See how it fends off the evo/wrx. Hell, any turbo car for thatmatter...all we can do is dream.
