Default rebuilt US h22a vs. jdm type-s h22 swap???

yo.... I hope this post won't be deleted... but here goes.

I have to make a decision to buy a USDM h22a and rebuild it (because it doesn't run) or continue to save for a three months and have a JDM h22a type-s swapped into my 94 prelude S.

Here is what it breaks down too:

-the US motor doesn't run... so it will need new pistons, bearings, ecu, machine and sleeve, and finally installed.

-the JDM motor is going to cost about 5 grand.

i need some serious advice... help me out.

For 5 grand, I would take the US motor *as long as the mains are good!* and rebuild the hell outta it.

You will have a brand new motor that you can trust. The Type-S would be nice, but you could build a better motor starting from scratch.

I vote for the rebuild of the USDM. you put new and better stuff in it!

with the JDM you dont know when something will go

had to replace the clutch and clutch resevoir. hope nothing else goes wrong.

You kept the same clutch in that came with your swap??
Most normal people put in new components such as, Clutch , timing belt, tensioner, plugs, wires, ext........You cant expect any of those to be good, when buying a used engine..

the person who swapped my engine checked the clutch and said there was some "meat" left on the clutch.

yeah build the **** out of a usdm. you can make a rather nasty bottom end for 5 grand.

or knowledgeable, if this was an experienced person, and didn't want this kid to waste more money on a new clutch when he could tell that there was some life left to a clutch or not. hell if the car wasn't going to be seriously beat or even if it was im sure the OE clutch woiuld hold up. i know from experience if a clutch still has some life left on it, or if the disk is chewed and glazed to ****. id say sometimes its ify, but sounds like he has had some past experience.

or hes lazy, lol,
